October to June

English, part of their everyday life

Coming to English classes at Campbell College becomes part of the children's routine. Most of them stay with us until they start university or work, and reach very high levels of English.

Small groups

A maximum of 10 students per group. Students are grouped by level, so a level test is needed to join.

Qualified native teachers

Native or bilingual teachers, graduates of British or Irish universities and holders of the University of Cambridge CELTA.

Three stages

Goals by age

Each stage has its own communication goals, from the first contact with the language to official certification.

  1. Children

    6–11

    years old

Three stages, one step at a time

The communicative goals grow with the child's age.

    6–7 years
Introduction to the language: vocabulary and pronunciation.
    8–9 years
Communicative activities and pronunciation; they start reading.
    10–11 years
More communicative activities and reading; they start writing.
  2. Juniors

    12–14

    years old

    Communicating, working on every skill

The aim is to make communication easier without leaving out any side of the language: speaking and writing, listening and reading, vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar. Classes include pair and group work, role-plays and simulations, interviews and surveys, and recordings to present new vocabulary and grammar.

  3. Teenagers

    15–17

    years old

Certifying B1 and B2 before university

Classes run at four levels according to each student's ability; students who join at this stage take a level test first. The aim is to sit the exams and obtain the B1 and B2 certificates of the Common European Framework (CEFR) before higher education. We specifically prepare for the University of Cambridge exams.
